Are there automatic transmission cars?

All Ford Fiesta ST and Focus ST cars used in the program will be manual transmission only. This is also true for any optional add-on programs that may use our school Mustang GT. Participants must be proficient and show competency in driving a manual transmission.

Are travel and accommodations included?

No.

Can I bring a guest?

Yes, you may bring a paying Guest.

 If you purchase a Guest Experience your guest does not drive the Ford Focus or Fiesta ST cars.

During your registration, you may purchase a Guest seat for the "Guest Experience."

If you selected not to bring a Guest to the Hoonigan Reception / Day 1 [referred to as the 'Guest Experience'] during your registration, you clearly understand that you are not allowed to bring any guest to the evening Hoonigan reception, or to the next day's activities — which includes classroom sessions, on-track experience, karting, and meals — at the racetrack.

Please note: all participants and guests will be required to sign track waivers.

Can I purchase a second driving day?

Yes.

On select dates, you can upgrade to an optional second day of Performance Driving for a real taste of what the Ford Performance Racing School has to offer. Based on our one-day school, this full day program begins with a detailed vehicle-dynamics classroom session that teaches the fundamentals of racing. Next you'll hit the race track for on-track instruction with a mid-day break and premium catered lunch. You’ll end the day with a solo drive on our world-class track.

Do I need to bring my own car?

No.

We provide the cars for the course. As the ST Octane Academy program takes shape we will update the specifications on the Ford Fiesta ST’s and Focus ST’s which will be used in the program.

Do you provide helmets & racing suits?

We do provide helmets for the course but participants are welcome to bring their own if it is rated Snell 2010 or newer. We also provide one layer driving suits.

How much time is spent in classroom vs. track?

Participants will spend roughly 20% of the time inside in the classroom, including lunch. The remaining 80% of the day is spent behind the wheel. These times are approximate and may vary slightly.

If I miss the welcome reception, can I still attend class the next day?

Yes, if you miss the evening Hoonigan Welcome Reception you may still attend the On-Track Day One starting the next morning at 8:00am. Please arrive no later than 7:45am to check-in at the Welcome Center.

Is there a dress standard for the Welcome Reception?

The dress standard for the Welcome Reception and ST Octane Academy is casual.

Is there an age requirement for Hot Laps?

Yes. The minimum age requirement is fourteen+ (14+) years to ride along on a hot lap.

Is there an age requirement?

Participants must be at least 16 to participate in any activity on the race track and possess a current, valid driver’s license. Drivers under 18 will need to have a parental consent form signed on-site. The minimum age requirement is fourteen+ (14+) years to ride along on a hot lap.

Reschedule Policy

Reschedule requests received more than 31 days prior to your event will receive a one-time credit toward attendance at a future STOA as long as the date falls within 12 months of the Fiesta/Focus ST delivery date. A $150 rescheduling fee will be charged. If a guest experience and/or a 2nd day option has been purchased, an additional rescheduling fee of 10% will be charged.

No refund or credit toward a future program will be offered if a cancellation or request to reschedule occurs less than 31 days prior to your event. Failure to appear will result in forfeiture of all event fees and the ability to attend future ST Octane Academy programs.

Cancellation and reschedule requests must be made by calling ST Octane Academy Client Service Representative Megan Duggan: 435-277-8043, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm MST.

Weather Policy

The Ford Performance Racing School [FPRS] is an all-weather facility. If extreme weather conditions prevent FPRS from safely executing the Event, every effort will be made to reschedule the Event. FPRS reserves the sole right in determining whether an Event will be cancelled due to dangerous weather conditions. In such case, FPRS will retain and apply Client's deposit to the rescheduled Event. If the Event is cancelled due to weather and a mutually-agreeable date cannot be determined, FPRS will refund the entire deposit.

What is my liability?

There is an option to purchase a property damage waiver option to limit financial responsibility for damage done to the Ford Fiesta ST and Focus ST cars used in the ST Octane Academy program. This option will also be available for the cars and trucks used in optional second driving day upgrades.

Without the limited liability, the student assumes full financial responsibility up to full replacement value of the vehicle for any and all damage they do to the vehicle.

This option can be purchased on during registration on this website or prior to attending or at check-in upon arrival at Ford Performanc Racing School.

ST Octane Academy Event Waiver/Liability:

POLICIES

1. PARTICIPANT AGREES TO ASSUME FULL FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY UP TO THE LIMIT AGREED FOR PROPERTY DAMAGE. PARTICIPANT ALSO AGREES TO FULL FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR PERSONAL INJURY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE EVENT(S) WHETHER CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF PARTICIPANT OR OTHERWISE. ONLY PARTICIPANT NAMED ABOVE IS AUTHORIZED TO DRIVE THE ASSIGNED CAR.

2. IF THE CAR SUFFERS MECHANICAL FAILURE, FORD PERFORMANCE RACING SCHOOL WILL PROVIDE, TO THE BEST OF THEIR ABILITIES, A BACK UP CAR.

3. AT ANY TIME, AND IN ITS SOLE DISCRETION, FORD PERFORMANCE RACING SCHOOL RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REMOVE THE DRIVER FROM THE RACE CAR FOR ANY REASON. THE FORD PERFORMANCE RACING SCHOOL ALSO RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DECIDE WHETHER OR NOT TO PROVIDE AN ADDITIONAL CAR AS BACK-UP, RESULTING FROM ASSIGNED VEHICLE BEING DAMAGED. ANY ADDITIONAL VEHICLE ASSIGNED WILL REQUIRE AN ADDITIONAL LIMITED LIABILITY FEE, IF OPTION IS SELECTED, OTHERWISE,PARTICIPANT WILL BE FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE NEWLY ASSIGNED VEHICLE. REFUNDS WILL BE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE FORD PERFORMANCE RACING SCHOOL.

VEHICLE DAMAGE WAIVER:

In consideration for Utah Motorsports Park and the Ford Performanc Racing School (Collectively known as UMC/FPRS) to agree to allow Participant to drive, practice, qualify and/or race in its vehicle and on its track, Participant agrees to hold harmless, indemnify and defend UMC/FPRS against any and all claims, demands, actions (including attorney's fees and costs) liability, losses, damages, injuries (including, without limitation death and dismemberment) and accidents of whatever kind resulting in any way from participating in events at UMC/FPRS. Participant further understands and agrees that he/she assumes full financial responsibility up to full replacement value of the Ford Performance Racing School vehicle assigned to Participant (as described below) for any and all damage Participant does to the vehicle. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Participant may elect (where designated herein) a property damage waiver option and pay an additional fee to limit his/her financial responsibility to Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) for damage done to the vehicle.

What should I wear?

Comfortable, seasonal attire is recommended. We also recommend you wear soft-soled shoes, such as driving or tennis shoes. No open-toed shoes are allowed when driving.

When does class start and end each day?

ST Octane Academy begins with the evening Hoonigan Reception at 6pm MST, followed by your On-Track Day One starting the next morning at 8:00am. Please arrive no later than 7:45am to check-in at the Welcome Center. Sessions run until about 5:00pm.

When does the Welcome Reception start?

The welcome reception takes place at Hoonigan Headquarters in Park City, UT. Directions to Hoonigan Headquarters are located in a link at the beginning of your original registration receipt email, this is the only way to receive directions to the reception. Where do I check in at FPRS?

After parking, you will check in at the Ford Performance Racing School Welcome Center – the building on your left/south at the main security gate.

Where do I park at FPRS?

Turning into Ford Performance Racing School, look for and follow the signs to park in the Performance Schools parking lot (first parking lot on your left/south side inside the main gate – before the Ford Performance Racing School Welcome Center building.

Who is eligible to attend?

Anyone who purchased and took delivery of a NEW Ford Focus ST or Ford Fiesta ST will have one calendar year from the date of delivery to register and attend an ST Octane Academy program.

Members of the immediate family of the buyer. "Immediate family" means the following relatives of the buyer:
